Salutogenic Family Practice, The Power of Connection

Description:  Trust and connection are critical to not only building a sustainable family practice but also in maximising the impact of your care as a chiropractor. A salutogenic approach to practice and an understanding of the importance of connection with practice members will not only elevate their quality of life and sense of coherence but yours as well. Many of our communities desperately need to make a shift towards empowered health and the family chiropractor is central to making this happen.

Outline: (Principles of practice)

  • Explore and understand the concepts of salutogenesis and polyvagal theory as they relate to clinical practice. Topics such as sense of coherence, quality of life, the vagal paradox, and social vagus will be covered. Clinical cases and their relationship to increases in sense of coherence will also be covered.

  • Develop an understanding of the role family chiropractors can have in empowering families to achieve generational health. Conceptualize the importance of building an environment that offers a sense of safety and acceptance.
